The Pulitzer Board has crossed a moral red line. By awarding Mosab Abu Toha—who openly denies the suffering of Israeli hostages and amplifies Hamas lies—they have legitimized hate under the guise of journalism.

Abu Toha, a contributor to The New Yorker, has smeared innocent civilians, questioned the existence of hostages like Emily Damari—who survived 147 days of Hamas captivity—and equated Hanukkah celebrations with terrorism.

He spread the thoroughly debunked claim that Israel bombed the Al-Ahli Hospital, long after the truth was made clear. And in a grotesque distortion of history, he compared Gaza to the Holocaust, suggesting that Israel is worse.

This is not reporting. It is a deliberate campaign to erase victims, glorify terror, and incite division.

The Pulitzer Board’s decision to honor Abu Toha is not just irresponsible—it is a betrayal of truth. It insults survivors of the October 7 massacre and hands a global platform to an individual who mocks their pain.

We must demand that the Pulitzer Board revoke Abu Toha’s prize, apologize to the victims and survivors he defamed, and ensure that their process no longer rewards those who promote hate.
