Rapaport: “Nobody is coming and saying anything on our behalf, Jewish people, Zionist people.”

By Shula Rosen

Jewish comedian and actor Michael Rapaport launched an intense, heartfelt tirade against those who are indifferent to recent antisemitic attacks along with a message to American Jews to stop waiting for allies to advocate for them.

On his podcast “I am Rapaport,” he slammed the public for “not doing shit” and told American Jews, “The cavalry ain’t coming.”

Rapaport, who has tirelessly advocated for Israel and the release of the hostages since the Hamas massacre on October 7, 2023, said that he feels like a “sucker” for speaking out against oppression against other groups when the antisemitic attacks against Jews are tolerated.

“I’ll tell you something, Jewish people, the cavalry ain’t coming,” he said. “The cavalry is not coming for us. They don’t give a f–k.”

Rapaport was referring to the current antisemitic violence in the US, including, most recently, an attack in Boulder, Colorado, by Mohamed Soliman, an Egyptian national living illegally in the US. With Molotov cocktails and a flamethrower, Soliman targeted participants at a demonstration held to raise awareness of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

A week earlier, a gunman shot and killed two young Israeli Embassy employees – Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky – at the Jewish Museum in Washington DC after attending a conference on how to transport more humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Rapaport added it was “sad” and “frustrating” that there has been so little attention paid among the public at large to these violent antisemitic acts, and he urged Jews to take steps to defend themselves and give up on the idea that others will advocate for them.

“Don’t you feel like an ass—- now for putting up a black square during Black Lives Matter when nobody is coming and saying anything on our behalf?” he asked.

“Nobody is coming and saying anything on our behalf, Jewish people, Zionist people. They’re not calling, texting, or tweeting. They’re not leaving comments. They’re not DMing. They’re not doing s–t,” he continued.

“It’s sad, it’s frustrating. You feel used. You feel manipulated. You feel like a sucker. I feel like it too!”
